The Hybrid Games Set For Landmark Northern Ireland Debut
The Eikon Exhibition Centre is preparing to host a major new addition to the regional sporting calendar as The Hybrid Games officially arrives in Northern Ireland for the first time.
Scheduled for Saturday, 21st March and Sunday, 22nd March 2026, the event promises to deliver a high-energy fitness racing experience that tests the endurance and power of all participants.
Designed to challenge athletes of every ability level—from those just starting their fitness journey to elite competitors—the 2026 season features a rigorous new format. To complete the course, entrants must tackle a demanding full-body circuit that includes:
• Ten 600m running intervals
• Ten functional fitness stations
• A final 200m sprint to the finish line Organisers have highlighted that the event will focus on an "electric" atmosphere, fostered by a community-driven environment where spectators and competitors alike support one another through to the end of the race.
The weekend offers a range of entry options to ensure inclusivity. Participants can enter the Solo categories for both men and women, or opt for Doubles divisions, which are open to male, female, and mixed-gender pairings. All competition formats are available on both days, providing flexibility for those scheduling their race times.
In addition to the competitors, the Hybrid Games team is seeking local fitness professionals to support the event's infrastructure. Recruitment is currently underway for Lead Judges and Rep Refs to oversee movement standards and athlete safety. The organisers are inviting qualified Personal Trainers and experienced fitness racers to apply to become the "beating heart" of the games.
Registration is officially open for those wishing to take part in this inaugural Northern Irish event.
