Investigation Launched After Pipe Bomb Explosion in East Belfast

Detectives have launched an appeal for information after a device exploded at a house in east Belfast on Monday, 2nd March. The incident occurred at approximately 11:25pm in the Sheskin Way area.

The explosion, involving a pipe bomb type device, took place at the front door of a property, resulting in damage to both the door and the windows. While a man and a woman were present inside the house at the time of the blast, neither sustained any injuries.

Police and Army Technical Officers (ATO) attended the scene and recovered several items for forensic examination. Although cordons were established in the area overnight to facilitate the investigation, they have since been removed.

Detectives at Musgrave are leading the enquiry and are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or who may have relevant footage.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland stated: "An investigation is underway and detectives would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has CCTV, doorbell or dash-cam footage which could assist them with their enquiries to contact them at Musgrave on 101, quoting reference number 1895 02/03/26.

Police Make Arrest Over 2004 Murder
A man has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of Kevin McAlorum in Co Antrim over fifteen years ago. Mr McAlorum was gunned down outside a primary school in Derriaghy on 03 June 2004. The 55-year-old man was arrested under the Terrorism Act in Belfast by the PSNI's Major Investigation Team on Tuesday 17 September.

Investigation Launched After Shots Fired At Coleraine House
Detectives have launched an investigation after a report of shots being fired at a house in the Glenvara Drive area of Coleraine. On Thursday 20 June, police received a report that a number of shots had been fired through the front window of a house at around 11.30pm.
