Phoenix Energy Launches £600 Cashback Offer

Phoenix Energy has introduced a new £600 installation cashback incentive to assist homeowners in switching from oil to natural gas. The 'Boiler Replacement Allowance' was officially unveiled yesterday during a Northern Ireland Network Gas Association event at the La Mon Hotel in Belfast, which saw attendance from over 120 local installers and major boiler manufacturers.

The initiative is specifically designed for households within the Phoenix Energy licensed area—covering Greater Belfast, Carrickfergus, Larne, Whitehead, and East Down. To qualify for the £600 support, households must have a gross annual income of less than £90,000.

By facilitating the move to natural gas, which can be up to 50% less carbon-intensive than older heating methods, the scheme aims to make sustainable energy more affordable. The project is being delivered in collaboration with the charity Action Renewables, which will handle the administrative processing and eligibility verifications.

The offer is set to remain open until 30 June 2026, providing a significant window for local residents to upgrade their systems.

Neil McCracken, General Sales Manager at Phoenix Energy, said: "I am delighted to see so many of our local installation companies here to find out more about how we can help customers locally to switch from oil to gas. We know many households are keen to switch to gas in order to enjoy more reliable and efficient home heating, but often installation cost can be a barrier. Our £600 Boiler Replacement Allowance, coupled with the free connection to our network that Phoenix can typically offer as standard, is a practical way to help families make the change improving home comfort and energy efficiency while making the process more accessible."

Terry Waugh, Chief Executive at Action Renewables, added: "At Action Renewables, our vision is to create a Northern Ireland which recognises the serious impacts of climate change. By working with Phoenix Energy and local installers, we're providing a solution for oil users locally that offers genuine financial support and a pathway to cleaner, more sustainable heating."
