Police Investigate Spate Of Anti-Social Behaviour In Bangor
Officers in Bangor are currently investigating a series of anti-social behaviour reports involving groups of youths over the past several weeks. The incidents have caused significant disruption to local staff and shoppers in the town centre.
On Monday, 16 March, it was reported that a group of teenage boys entered a retail premises on Main Street. During the incident, they caused a disturbance and threatened to assault a member of staff.
Two further reports were received on Friday, 20 March. In the first instance, a teenager was reported to have been verbally abusive and threw food items at both customers and staff within a business in the Main Street area. Police have confirmed they are aware of a video of this particular incident circulating on social media. In a separate report that same day, youths entered another retail store where they threw items around and caused general disruption to workers and the public. Bangor Neighbourhood Inspector Campbell said: "Officers take all such reports seriously, and we recognise the wider impact that this kind of behaviour can have on the local community. We are committed to addressing these issues and supporting those affected."
Inspector Campbell confirmed that patrols in Bangor and the surrounding areas will continue. The PSNI is also working alongside local representatives and partner agencies to resolve these ongoing issues.
"It is vital we work together to promote responsible behaviour and support a safe environment for everyone," Inspector Campbell added.
Enquiries into these incidents are ongoing. Authorities are appealing for anyone with information that could assist the investigation to come forward. Reports can be made via 101 or through the non-emergency reporting form on the PSNI website. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.

Inspector Adams said that officers responded to reports of youths throwing stones and bottles at each other shortly after 6:50 pm. Upon police arrival, the youths dispersed.
