Three Arrested Following Security Alert in Glenarm
Detectives have arrested three people following a security alert in Glenarm on Monday, 6th April.
The incident began shortly after 10:00 am when police received reports of a suspicious device in the Feystown Road area. Ammunition Technical Officers (ATO) attended the scene and carried out a controlled explosion on the object, which was subsequently confirmed to be a viable device.
Two men, aged 43 and 47, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of obstructing police and performing an act with intent to cause an explosion likely to endanger life or cause serious injury to property. Both individuals remain in police custody at this time. A woman in her 70s was also arrested on suspicion of obstructing police. She has since been released and will be reported to the Public Prosecution Service (PPS).
Detective Inspector Lenaghan said: "Enquiries are ongoing and I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the Feystown Road between 4:00 am and 5:00 am on Monday 6th April and witnessed anyone suspicious or to anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to contact detectives on 101 quoting reference 401 06/04/26."

Man arrested in connection with 1981 murder
Detectives investigating the murder of a nine-year-old girl in Co Down nearly 25 years ago have today arrested a man on suspicion of her murder. Jennifer Cardy was discovered dead by two fishermen at McKee's Dam near Hillsborough in 1981 after being snatched as she cycled to a friend's house on 12 August that same year.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Police renew murder appeal
Police have renewed their appeal into the murder of a man in Co Down last month. Andrew Cully, a father of two teenage boys from Greyabbey, was shot up to 10 times as he sat in his parked car in the loyalist West Winds estate in Newtownards on 24 March. Detectives want to speak to anyone who saw Mr Cully sitting in his car prior to the shooting.

Man Charged In Possession Of Heroin
A man is to appear in court charged in possession of heroin. Police arrested five people during searches of a property in Newry on Wednesday, 16 January. Two men have also been charged in possession of a Class A drug. A 50-year-old woman has also been charged with permitting premises to be used for the supply of a Class A drug.

Two Men Arrested On Suspicion Of Kidnapping
Police have arrested two men on suspicion of kidnapping. The males, aged 33 and 31, were detained in Co L'Derry. It is believed there arrests are in connection with an incident in the city on Thursday, 26 October. No further details have been released.
