Man Arrested Following Early Morning Stabbing in Omagh
A 44-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing incident in Omagh during the early hours of Sunday, 19th April.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland received a report at approximately 12.25am stating that a man had been stabbed in the lower abdomen in the Kevlin Road area. Upon arrival, officers found colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service already at the scene providing medical assistance. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital for further treatment.
A suspect was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent and currently remains in custody as the investigation continues.
Sergeant Irvine said: "We received a report at around 12.25am that a man in the Kevlin Road area had been stabbed in the lower abdomen. "Officers attended the scene, where colleagues from the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service were already present. The male was then taken on to hospital for treatment to his injuries.
"A 44-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody at this time.
"Our enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information, including CCTV, ring-doorbell or other footage, is asked to contact detectives on the 101 number, quoting reference 34 of 19/04/26.
