Two Men Arrested in Scotland on Suspicion of East Belfast Murder
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of 51-year-old Nicholas (Nicky) Gordon in east Belfast.
Mr. Gordon was assaulted in the Holywood Road area of Belfast on Tuesday 12 May. He subsequently passed away in hospital as a result of his injuries on Saturday 16 May.
The suspects, aged 25 and 31, were apprehended in Scotland this afternoon by officers from Police Scotland. Arrangements are being made to extradite the men back to Northern Ireland, where they will undergo questioning by detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland.
Police enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Brian McIlhagga. A gang of masked men dragged the 42-year-old victim from a house in the Riverview Park area in Ballymoney on 05 January 2015. He was beaten and shot in a paramilitary-style attack.

'Ikea Five' Remanded On Drugs Charges
Two Dublin residents are among the five men charged with having cannabis worth £700,000 at east Belfast's Ikea store. Lester Keating, 40, of Cornduff Road, Blanchardstown and Paul Bennett, 21, from Ashwood Drive, Clondalkin, appeared in court in Belfast today.

Six Arrested In Dissident Investigation
Six people have been arrested by detectives investigating dissident republican activity. The arrests were made on Tuesday in the Dunmurry and west Belfast area following a number of searches. Police said five men, aged between 31 and 58, and a 32-year-old woman had been arrested.
