Serving PSNI Officer Arrested Following Ombudsman Investigation

Investigators from the Police Ombudsman's office made the arrest on, Tuesday 26 May 2026.

The allegations against the officer involve misconduct in public office concerning the abuse of their position for sexual purposes, as well as perverting the course of justice.

This follows a referral made by the Chief Constable last year. The officer had been arrested previously on suspicion of separate but similar offences, which included the misuse of police I.T. systems and the intimidation of a witness.
