A total of 31 students have now graduated from the airport's year-long initiative, which supports participants from a range of backgrounds and offers experiences to aid their personal and professional development.

Michelle Hatfield, Chief People and Marketing Officer at Belfast City Airport, commented: "IGNITE was created to help young people realise their potential, and each year, we see that potential come to life in incredible ways.

"Since 2019, the programme has supported students to build confidence and develop essential life and leadership skills. This year's cohort has been no exception, bringing energy, curiosity and determination to every opportunity.

"At Belfast City Airport, we are committed to investing in our community and the next generation. Programmes like IGNITE play a key role in that commitment, helping to inspire ambition, nurture talent, and provide young people with the opportunities they need to succeed.

"We are incredibly proud of everything this year's graduates have achieved and extend our congratulations to each and every one of them as they take their next steps." Across 12 months, participants learn alongside youth organisations, charities, businesses and industry professionals while working towards an NLP Diploma in Personal and Career Development.

Through workshops, mentoring and interactive experiences, students are encouraged to move beyond their comfort zones, grow their leadership capabilities and build lasting connections with peers and professionals.

Harrison Firbank, a participant on the programme, said: "It's definitely been an unforgettable experience. Being able to meet new people, get new opportunities, and get the lessons we've been taught from the guest speakers has been incredible.

"My biggest takeaway is to put yourself out there, throw yourself into things, and be confident."

Akshara Rakesh, another graduate of IGNITE, added: "It's been a game changer! It really helps you to meet the personal goals you set yourself, and it changes you as a person by the time you reach the end of the programme. Being a leader is not just about guiding a team but being a team player."
