Man Arrested Over Downpatrick Takeaway Robbery
A man in his 40s is in custody after cash was stolen from a takeaway on Irish Street on Wednesday evening, with police appealing for information.
Police made the arrest following a reported robbery in Downpatrick on Wednesday 24 June.
At around 6.45pm, a man armed with a knife entered a takeaway in the Irish Street area and demanded a staff member open the till.
The suspect fled with a sum of money. The staff member was left very shaken but was not physically injured.
Officers later arrested a man, aged in his 40s, on suspicion of robbery. He remains in custody assisting with enquiries.
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting reference 1384 of 24/06/26.

Five to appear in court in connecton with Bangor robbery
Five youths are to appear in Downpatrick Magistrates Court today charged in connection with the robbery of an off-licence in Bangor on Tuesday night. Two youths, who entered the premises on the Rathgael Road, assaulted two female members of staff before making off with a sum of money and alcohol.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder over an attack in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. A man, aged in his 50s, is in a critical condition in hospital after he was assaulted at a house on the Ballycastle Road on Monday, 26 September. Two other men were also arrested and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at a house in Coleraine, Co L'Derry. It happened at a property on Knockantern Grove in the Mountsandel area on Tuesday, 16 August. The suspect has been arrested on suspicion of possessing of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an offence and assault on police.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
