Arrest Made In 1973 Murder Of Marian Beattie

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland’s Legacy Investigation Branch have arrested a man in connection with the 1973 murder of Marian Beattie.

The 18-year-old’s body was discovered at the bottom of a quarry near Aughnacloy on the morning of Saturday 31 March 1973, just hours after she had attended a nearby charity dance.

The suspect, who is in his 70s, was detained on Thursday, 02 June.
