Woman Charged Over Alleged Anonymity Breach In High-Profile Case

Detectives from Newry Criminal Investigation Department (CID) have charged a 55-year-old woman in connection with an alleged anonymity breach linked to a recent high-profile court case.

She was arrested in the Ballynahinch area on Tuesday 28th July and is accused of contravening a lifetime ban on reporting the identity of alleged victim/s.

She is due to appear before Downpatrick Magistrates' Court on Monday, 24th August.

As is standard procedure, the charge will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service.

Man to appear in court over alleged dual stabbing
A teenage boy has been stabbed after rescuing a woman who was knifed during an alleged car hijacking attempt in County Londonderry. The 16-year-old boy was getting off a bus in the city late on Monday April 1 when he saw the woman being attacked. The woman was sitting in her car when a man, armed with a knife, approached and threatened her.

Lawyer considers client's 'overexposure'
The lawyer of a senior north Belfast loyalist has warned that he may report the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, and an unnamed Sunday newspaper editor to the Attorney General for over exposure of his client. Ihab Shoukri, from Alliance Road, was today remanded on continuing bail charged two counts of being a member of the UDA/UFF.

Woman Found Unconscious On Co Down Road
A woman has been found unconscious on a road in County Down. The woman, aged in her 50s, was discovered on the Sheepland Road at around 4.30am on Sunday. She was taken to hospital where she is believed to be in a serious condition.
