Council Advances Consultation On Portrush Metropole Project
Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council has taken another step towards shaping future plans for the Metropole site in Portrush, advancing the consultation element of its feasibility work.
Councillors and officers met Betongpark, the organisation appointed to deliver the feasibility project, last week. The session enabled the team to introduce itself and outline how the consultation phase will be conducted.
A series of urban sports stakeholder engagement sessions will be held on Wednesday evening, 2 September, at Portrush Town Hall. Skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter riders and members of West Bay Rollers are encouraged to attend between 5pm and 7pm.
A broader public consultation later in September will invite residents, local businesses, community groups and schools to share their views on what could be included at the Metropole site. This will combine in-person engagement events with an online survey.
Feedback gathered through the consultation will inform the ongoing feasibility work and help shape emerging proposals for the site. The Council will provide further details on upcoming public consultation opportunities in due course.

40 New Social Apartments Open In L'Derry City Centre

SSE Airtricity To Raise Gas Tariff By 19.2% From October
SSE Airtricity will lift its gas tariff by 19.2% from 1 October 2026. The rise will affect roughly 204,000 domestic customers across the Greater Belfast and West gas networks, as well as around 4,500 small commercial customers. For a typical household, the change will add about £174 a year to bills for those on credit meters.
