Appeal Issued After Attempted Car Theft In L'Derry

Police are appealing for information following an attempted theft of a car in the Crescent Link area of L'Derry.

The incident happened at approximately 10.45pm on Thursday, 27 August, when a blue Volkswagen Arteon was damaged during an attempted theft.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time, or anyone with CCTV, dashcam or other footage that could assist the investigation, to come forward.

Information can be provided to police on 101, quoting reference number 1773 of 27/08/26.

SSE Airtricity To Raise Gas Tariff By 19.2% From October
SSE Airtricity will lift its gas tariff by 19.2% from 1 October 2026. The rise will affect roughly 204,000 domestic customers across the Greater Belfast and West gas networks, as well as around 4,500 small commercial customers. For a typical household, the change will add about £174 a year to bills for those on credit meters.
