£10m Logistics Hub In Newtownabbey Gets The Green Light
Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council's Planning Committee has signed off plans for a new £10 million logistics complex at Houston's Corner, Newtownabbey, signalling a major boost to the Borough's economy.
The scheme, led by leading timber importer and distributor James Latham Timber PLC, includes a warehouse with ancillary office accommodation, an external service yard, HGV facilities and on-site car parking.
Around 10 new roles are expected across warehousing, distribution and related business services. The development is projected to generate approximately £2.76 million per year in Gross Value Added (GVA) for the local economy.
Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey, Councillor Henry Cushinan commented: "I am delighted to welcome James Latham Timber PLC to the Borough and to see this significant £10 million investment progressing at Houston’s Corner. The new facility will provide the additional storage and operational capacity the company needs to support its future expansion, while also delivering tangible benefits for our local economy."
