Queen’s Rises To 196th In THE World University Rankings, Top 8.5% Globally
The World University Rankings assess almost 2,200 institutions across 115 countries and territories, evaluating research-intensive universities on teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook. Queen's performance reflects strength across these core pillars.
The latest rise builds on Queen's recent progress, moving up from the 201–250 band into one of the most competitive tiers of the table.
Welcoming the results, President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Ian Greer, said: "Securing our highest percentile ever in the Times Higher Education World Rankings is a clear reflection of the dedication of colleagues and students across our university community, whose efforts are strengthening our ability to attract the best talent, deliver a first-class education and world-class research, and ultimately make a positive difference to society.
"These rankings provide another cause for celebration in a year when Queen's has broken into the top 175 universities in the world in the prestigious QS World University Rankings 2027, been named University of the Year at the WhatUni Student Choice Awards and seen our Students' Union recognised as the number one in the UK."
Further details on the rankings, including the methodology used, are available on the THE World University Rankings website.
