Bangor firm secure £1m aerospace contracts

A Bangor-based manufacturer of precision injection mouldings has secured new contracts in excess of £1 million from BAe Systems, the UK’s main aerospace engineering group.

The contracts for Denroy Plastics cover a range of plastic containers and components for BAe products. The company is also supplying structural wing components for use in the Airbus and European fighter aircraft programmes.

Announcing the orders, Denroy managing director, John Rainey, said: “These orders enhance substantially our position as one of the foremost suppliers of injection mouldings to BAe and as a leader in the design and manufacture of plastics components to the European aerospace industry.

“We’ve a longstanding relationship with BAe that’s been built on quality, value for money and highly responsive technical support. To maintain this reputation with one of our most important customers, we’ve focused on adding value to our business through continuous improvement across the business. This is enhancing our competitiveness in what is a very challenging and exacting industry.

Denroy Plastics was helped in securing the contracts after participating in Invest NI programmes that have helped the company to improve its processes, upgrade internal communications and explore new business opportunities by taking part in trade missions to the USA, South Africa and other global markets.
