Man detained as robbery attempt foiled
A man has been arrested after an attempted robbery was foiled outside a bank on the outskirts of Belfast on Thursday afternoon.
The incident occurred at around 1.30pm as a Securicor van tried to make a delivery to an Ulster Bank in Dunmurry.
A man is believed to have tried to grab a cash box from a Securicor worker, but personnel from a separate Securicor surveillance unit intervened.
Police have cordoned of the scene of the incident as they carry out follow-up inquiries.
Detectives have appealed for anyone with information to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of David James Conville
A 31-year-old man has been jailed at Belfast Crown Court for the manslaughter of David James Conville in south Belfast in May, 2022. Edward Kelly was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half years, half of his sentence will be served in custody and half will be served on licence, following his guilty plea last November.
