IT firm to create 45 jobs in £3.3m expansion project
A leading Belfast-based IT firm is set to create 45 new jobs as part of a £3.3 million expansion project.
Kainos said it would be recruiting business consultants, software engineers and project managers along with positions for graduates as part of its 12 month plan which is being helped by a £494,000 grant from government-funded Invest NI.
Managing director Brendan Mooney described the plans as "fantastic news".
"By investing significant resources internally, we have been able to diversify and broaden our customer base and focus," he said.
Mr Rooney said the expansion was due to the success of its speech recognition and document management software products.

200 New Jobs Announced In Galway
Up to 200 new jobs are to be created in Galway by New York-based insurance firm, MetLife. The company is to create the new jobs are part of an expansion plan in Ireland, which will see them open a new Global Technology Campus. The new campus is expected to be opened in early 2017, and recruitment for the new IT roles is to begin immediately.

Union To Protest Outside Bookmakers Over Pay Dispute
Unite the union will be protesting outside bookmaker William Hill's shops in London, Birkenhead, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Birmingham, Gloucester and Southampton on Friday 07 October, as part of a nationwide day of action against the gambling giant's plans to slash shop managers' pay by £6,000 a year on average.
