Man dies in road traffic collision

A 19-year-old man has died in hospital following a road traffic collision in Co Tyrone.

The collision, involving a car and a lorry, occurred at Deverney Road just outside Omagh at around 9.30am on Wednesday.

The car driver was taken to the Tyrone County Hospital, where he died several hours later.

He has been named as Shane Smyth who was from the nearby village of Beragh.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to contact police on 028 9065 0222.
