Police in separate robbery appeals

Detectives in west Belfast are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at an off-license on the Springfield Road on Sunday.

At around 10.40am two men, one armed with a carving knife, entered the premises and threatened two members of staff. They ordered them into a staff room before escaping with the contents of the till, a bottle of whiskey and a mobile phone.

The assailants are believed to have made off in a blue Seat Toledo car belonging to one of the staff members.

They are described as being in their early 20s and wearing white hooded tops which they used to cover their faces.

Elsewhere, detectives in Lisburn are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a chemist’s shop in the town.

A man armed with a long-bladed knife entered the premises on the Knockmore Road shortly before 2.30pm on Saturday. He threatened staff before escaping with a substantial sum of money in a small silver car, which was driven by another man. Nobody was injured in the incident.

Appeal Following Serious Assault And Robbery In Antrim
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses after a man was assaulted and robbed in Antrim during the early hours of Monday, 18 March. The 26-year-old was walking in an alleyway adjacent to Seacash Drive at around 3.50am when he was approached by two men.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a fatal road traffic collision on Tuesday, 05 march between Omagh and Ballygawley. Shortly before 7.25pm on Tuesday evening, police received a report of a collision on the Curr Road involving a white BMW 320 and blue Scania lorry.

Two Men Arrested In £500,000 Drug Seiure In South Belfast
Two men have been arrested in connection with a £500,000 drug seizure following searches in South Belfast. On Friday, 01 March, detectives from the PSNI's Organised Crime Branch stopped and searched two vehicles in the Lisburn Road area. Class B controlled drugs were recovered from both vehicles which were also subsequently seized.

Suspected Firearm Recovered During PSNI Operation In Ardmore
The PSNI's Terrorism Investigation Unit (TIU) have recovered a suspected firearm in Ardmore in L'Derry. During a search in the Rushall Road area, the suspected firearm was located in the vicinity of a graveyard. Enquiries continue, and the suspected firearm will now be the subject of forensic testing.

Renewed Appeal For Information In West Belfast Murder Investigation
The PSNI's Major Investigation Team have renewed an appeal for information following the death of a man in west Belfast. A murder investigation was launched after a man was found seriously injured and unconscious in the Cupar Street area of the city on Wednesday evening, 6 March. The man passed away in hospital later that same night.
