Device thrown at house in north Belfast

A house in north Belfast's Alliance Close was attacked last night, a device smashing through the roof into the attic.

The attack happened about 2330 BST, and is believed to be the work of republicans.

A man, his wife and pregnant daughter were at home at the time.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said the attack was the latest in a series of attacks and that the family were targeted because they are Protestants.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them.
