Man charged with armed robbery

One man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a chemist’s shop in Lisburn on Thursday.

He was also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after allegedly entering the premises at Knockmore Square in the city and demanding a quantity of drugs.

During the incident a struggle ensued and an employee at the shop sustained a broken nose.

Elsewhere, thieves have stolen a safe containing a undisclosed sum of money from a bookmakers in Co Londonderry.

Staff at the shop in Kilrea discovered the break-in at the premises iwhen they arrived for work on Friday.

Police have said that a vehicle would have been needed to take the safe away.

Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Ballycastle Supermarket
An investigation has been launched following the armed robbery of a supermarket in Ballycastle on Tuesday, 09 April. It was reported to police, that at around 11pm a masked man entered the Castle Street store carrying a spray bottle of an unknown substance. The man approached a cashier and demanded money, threatening them with the spray bottle.

Investigation Launched Into Petrol Bomb Attack In Ballymena
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a report of a petrol bomb incident in the Queen Street area of Ballymena. Shortly before 10.15pm on Monday, March 4, it was reported that two petrol bombs were thrown through the living room window of a house in the area. Neither of the petrol bombs ignited.

Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses following a robbery at commercial premises in east Belfast this morning, 2 April. Police received a report that a man armed with a gun entered the business on Orangefield Lane shortly after 7am and demanded cash from staff.

Appeal Following Stabbing Incident In Downpatrick
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information and witnesses following a stabbing incident in Downpatrick. Police received a report shortly after 6pm on Saturday, 17th February that a man had been stabbed on a pathway in the St Dympnas Avenue area of the town.
