Two men released following McCartney questioning

Two men arrested in connection with the murder of Belfast man Robert McCartney have been released.

The men, who were also being question by police about the attempted murder of Mr McCartney's friend, Brendan Devine, which took place on January 30, are believed to have been released on Wednesday.

A report is being sent to the Public Prosecution Service. Two others have already been charged over the murder.

Mr McCartney's family believe IRA members were behind the murder which took place out side a Belfast city centre bar following a row.

The Provisional group have repeatedly denied any involvement in the killing.
