Man dies in road traffic collision
One man has died, and a second was injured, following a road traffic collision in Co Down on Wednesday.
Two cars were involved in the crash which occurred at the Forkhill Road roundabout in Newry late last night.
Both men were taken to the nearby Daisy Hill Hospital, where one died a short time later. The second man is said to be in a stable condition.
The Newry by-pass was closed for a time following the accident but has since been re-opened.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 028 9065 0222 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a serious road traffic collision in Newcastle, Co Down. The Ballagh Road has been closed and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. The PSNI has confirmed that a man has died following a fatal road traffic collision in east Belfast on Saturday, 27 September 2025. Inspector Cherith Adair of the PSNI’s Collision Investigation Unit stated: "Just after 11pm, we received a report of a pedestrian having been struck by a vehicle in the Ballygowan Road area.
