Two arrested following homophobic attack

Two men have been arrested in connection with an apparent homophobic attack in Londonderry on Wednesday.

The incident is believed to have occurred in a bar in the Strand Road area of the city in the early hours of the morning.

Police said they received reports of a man being physically and verbally abused outside the bar at about 2.50am.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 0845 6008000.

Elsewhere, a man has been arrested in connection with a serious assault in Co Antrim last month.

The incident occurred in Broughshane Street, Ballymena on October 23.

The police searched a house in the town on Wednesday morning before making the arrest. Two people have already been charged in connection with the assault.

Man Arrested In Connection With Incident In Lurgan
A 24-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Lurgan in the early hours of Sunday 13 June. Shortly after 5:45am, police received a report of what was described as a petrol bomb thrown towards an address on William Street. Officers attended the scene where scorch damage had been caused to the front door of a property.
