Man arrested in connection with Robb murder

A man has been arrested today in connection with the murder of a former loyalist gunrunner.

Lindsay Robb, 38, died after being attacked in the Ruchazie area of Glasgow, on New Year's Eve 2005.

Police in Strathclyde today confirmed that they had arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with the murder.

Mr Robb, who was a prominent member of the Progressive Unionist Party, was sentenced to 10 years in 1995 for his involvement in loyalist gun-smuggling activities. He was released early under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement.

Following his release in 1999, he moved to Lanarkshire in Scotland with his wife.
