Teenager released on bail in rape inquiry

A teenage boy, who was questioned by police in connection with inquires into the rape of a 15-year-old girl, has today been released on police bail.

The girl was assaulted in an alleyway off the Moss Road, Harmony Hill in Lisburn at around 9pm on Saturday night.

The victim had been socialising with around 40 other young people in the city, and is believed to have become separated from her friends when the attack took place.

The suspect was arrested the following day.

Detectives in Lisburn have appealed for any of the youths who were in the area when the incident happened, or anyone who may have any information in relation to the case to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Man charged in connection with Enniskillen rape released on bail
A 49-year-old taxi driver has appeared at Fermanagh Magistrates Court, charged with the rape of a teenager in Enniskillen on Monday. The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denies raping the 17-year-old girl. The detective leading the case old the court that he believed that he could connect the accused, to the crime.
