Derry family escape injury in gun attack

A family have escaped injury following a gun attack on their home in the Bradley Park area of Derry last night.

The couple and their two-year-old daughter were in the upstairs of the house when the attack took place.

Shortly after 11.30pm, three men, one of whom was armed with a gun, fired two shots at the property.

One of the shots went through the living room window causing damage to the interior.

The two other men tried to kick in the front and back doors, but failed to gain entry.

The family have been left shaken by their ordeal, but were uninjured in the attack.

A police spokesperson said the gunman was wearing a balaclava, combat trousers and a dark bomber jacket and had a local accent.

Police are still investigating a possible motive for the attack, and have appealed for anyone with any information to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 55 111.

Three In Hospital After Police Vehicle Collides With Another Vehicle

Appeal After Masked Men Force Entry Into Home Of Elderly Man
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information after five masked me forced entry into the home of an man aged in his 70s, on the Saintfield Road. Police received a report shortly before 11.30pm on Saturday, 17th February that between 10pm and 10.30pm on the same evening, five masked men entered a house in the Saintfield Road area.
