Armed robbery in west Belfast

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery yesterday evening.

At around 7.15pm, a man armed with a knife entered a shop in the Stewartstown Road area of the city and threatened staff.

The robber then jumped across the counter and filled a blue sports bag with cigarettes and an undisclosed sum of cash.

He has been described as around 6 feet tall, and was wearing a grey coloured two-tone coat, with a black scarf covering his face and a pair of yellow washing up gloves.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Armed Robbery On Crumlin Road
Detectives in North Belfast are appealing for information following an armed robbery in the Crumlin Road area on Tuesday evening. At approximately 7.45pm, a man armed with a suspected firearm entered a commercial premises. The man made off with a sum of cash and a quantity of cigarettes and he left on foot in the direction of Bilston Road.
