Drugs stolen from west Belfast chemists shop

Police in west Belfast have appealed for information following an armed robbery in a chemists shop yesterday afternoon.

Two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the premises on Beechmount Avenue at around 1.30pm and demanded prescription drugs.

The robbers, who were both wearing hooded tops and masks to hide their faces, made off with a quantity of painkillers, sleeping tablets and anti-depressants, which could be harmful if taken without consulting a doctor.

Detectives have asked for anyone with any information on the robbery to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.
