Four rescued from County Armagh blaze
Four people have escaped injury following a house fire in County Armagh.
The blaze broke out in the terraced house in the Lismore area of Crossmaglen at around 4.30am this morning.
The alarm was raised by a neighbour, who rescued two men in their 20's before Fire and Rescue services arrived.
Fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus then used a ladder to rescue a man and a woman from a first floor window.
The four people were all taken to hospital where they received treatment for the effects of smoke inhalation, and one of the men was treated for cuts to his arm, which he sustained while climbing through a window.
It is understood that there were no smoke alarms fitted in the house and a spokesman for the Fire Service said that the occupants had a lucky escape and added that the public must ensure that they have a working smoke detector fitted in their homes in the event of a fire breaking out.
It is not yet known how the fire started.
Meanwhile, a fire has caused thousands of pounds worth of damage to a builders yard in County Down.
The blaze, which is is being treated as arson, happened in the property at Sperrin View in Sion Mills at around 3am on Sunday.
The PSNI and the Fire and Rescue Service, were called to the incident, which began when a vehicle was set alight.

Woman escapes injury as car plunges onto lough shore
A woman has escaped serious injury after her car plunged onto the shores of Carlingford Lough in Co Down on Thursday. The woman was travelling towards Warrenpoint at around 7.50pm when she was forced to swerve to avoid a horse and cart. The resulting swerve saw her car leave the road, overturn and land on its roof on the shore of the Lough.

Man Rescued From House Fire
A man has been rescued from a house fire in north Belfast. The fire started at approximately 7.15am on Monday from a cooking pot that was left unattended in a house in the Malvern Close area of the Shankill. Three fire engines attend the scene. The man was taken to hospital where he was treated for smoke inhalation.

Semi-conscious woman rescued from house fire
A semi-conscious woman has been rescued from a house fire in Londonderry on Friday. The alarm was raised after a taxi-driver saw smoke coming from the woman's house in the Galliagh area just after 7am. When the fire service arrived a fire crew made its way into the property were they found the woman semi-conscious on the first floor of her bedroom.

Man rescued from house fire in Derry
A man in his 20’s is recovering in hospital after being rescued from a house fire in Londonderry. Firefighters were called to the house off Shearwater Way in the Waterside area of the city by a neighbour who was alerted by a smoke alarm in the early hours of Friday morning.
