Porter tied up during hotel robbery

Police in south Belfast have appealed for information after a robbery at a hotel in the city in the early hours of this morning.

The incident happened at a hotel on University Street at around 2.15am, when a hotel porter was taking rubbish outside of the premises.

He was grabbed by a man armed with a knife, who took him inside the hotel, where he was joined by another man, armed with a screwdriver.

The porter was tied up and the men proceeded to steal money from gaming machines, and a large bottle of whiskey.

The PSNI have welcomed a two-year Stalking Protection Order (SPO) handed down to a 46-year-old Belfast man at Belfast Magistrates Court. The man had been found guilty of stalking and harassing his 50-year-old female ex-partner.

Man Jailed For Manslaughter Of David James Conville
A 31-year-old man has been jailed at Belfast Crown Court for the manslaughter of David James Conville in south Belfast in May, 2022. Edward Kelly was sentenced to serve three-and-a-half years, half of his sentence will be served in custody and half will be served on licence, following his guilty plea last November.

Appeal For Information Following Collision In Ballymoney
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a single vehicle road traffic collision in Ballymoney yesterday, Tuesday 6th February. At around 3.40pm, it was reported to police that a grey Citroen C3 had collided with a pole on the Drones Road.
