Get A Result With The Careers Service
Northern Ireland's Careers Service is urging post exam students to take advantage of the professional advice and guidance it offers.
Highlighting the importance of making informed decisions following examination results, Head of the Careers Service Judith Shaw said: "Over the next few weeks many thousands of young people and adults will be receiving examination results for a wide range of academic and vocational courses. I would encourage each student to take time to consider their options and to take advantage of the professional careers information, advice and guidance provided by the Careers Service." Operating throughout a network of 27 Careers Offices across Northern Ireland, the Careers Service is staffed by professionally qualified advisers who have excellent experience in helping young people and adults make informed decisions about opportunities in education, training and employment.
Results time is an anxious time for the entire family and the Careers Service highlight the importance of parental support. This is a vital component in the decision making process and the Careers Service welcomes parents and guardians to participate in the guidance process.
Careers Advisers are also on hand to discuss options with mature students who are receiving results and making decisions about their next steps. Judith continued: "By contacting your local Careers Office you can make an appointment with a Careers Adviser who can help you to examine the range of options available to you and support your decision making."

Employment and Learning Minister Dr Stephen Farry has today launched additional opening hours each Thursday evening for the Careers Resource Centre, Ann Street, Belfast. Announcing that the Resource Centre will remain open until 8:30pm each Thursday evening, the Minister said: "Careers guidance is often viewed as relevant only to young people.
