Attempted abduction in County Down

Police in County Down have appealed for information following the attempted abduction of a 10-year-old girl yesterday evening.

The incident happened in the Hill Street area of Ardglass at around 8pm, when a man in a small white coloured five-door car, stopped beside the child and offered her a lift.

The girl declined and the man proceeded to make a second offer.

She then ran off and managed to make her way home unharmed.

The man is described as being aged in his 30's, was wearing a black jumper and spoke with a local accent.

Teenage girl escapes serious injury in pellet gun shooting
It has emerged that a 13-year-old girl has escaped serious injury after being struck in the face by a pellet. The incident, which occurred in the Gobnascale area of the Waterside on Sunday, saw the girl fired on by a person in a passing car from either a BB gun or an air pistol. There are no further details at present.

Police in west Belfast are appealing for information after an 11-year-old girl was chased in Colinglen Forest Park by a man wielding a knife The incident occurred at around 8.30pm last night, a short time after the girl had become separated from her friends.

Two Dead In Co Antrim Collisions
Two people have died in hospital after separate road traffic collisions in Co Antrim. An 88 year-old man named as Daniel Louden from Ballymoney was injured in a one-vehicle crash on the Frosses Road, Ballymoney at around 8am on Friday 08 November. He died in hospital on Saturday night.

Man Arrested In Connection With Dromara Assault
A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.
