Apprentice Boys parade talk doubts

The Apprentice Boys have said that talks with the Parades Commission on this year's marches may be in doubt.

The annual talks with the Parades Commission and residents' representatives have been thrown into question, as the Apprentice Boys want to know how confidential information has allegedly fallen into the hands of republicans.

Members of the protestant loyal order recently refused to go on a trip to South Africa, accusing the Parades Commission of a failure to fully address the order's concerns.

A spokesperson for the order said that they would not be attending any further talks as they were waiting for the Commission to announce if there was to be an investigation into the leaks.

In a statement released today, the loyal order described the Parades Commission as "completely compromised" and called for a police investigation into the alleged security breach.
