Pensioner dies after west Belfast collision

Police in west Belfast have appealed for witnesses following a road traffic collision yesterday evening in which a pensioner died.

The incident happened outside a taxi office on the Monagh Road area of Ballymurphy shortly before 6pm.

The 70-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment, however later died from his injuries.

Police have asked for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000, or anonymously on the Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Police Appeal For Witnesses After Pedestrian Dies In Road Collision
Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a pensioner died in a crash in west Belfast shortly before Christmas. Jim Maxwell, 71, was hit a car on the Donegall Road on 23 December at around 7.30pm.
