Man remanded over north Belfast attack
A 23-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged in connection with an assault in north Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Gerard Cotterell from Meadow Close in Belfast was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, and possession of a firearm with intent.
The charges are understood to be connected to an incident at Maeve House in the New Lodge area when a man, aged in his late 30s was stabbed in the head.

Man remanded over explosives find
A 23-year-old man has appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged with possessing explosives with intent to endanger life. Jackie Johnston, with an address at Dismas House Hostel on the Ormeau Road, was also charged with possessing ammunition with intent.

Lawyer considers client's 'overexposure'
The lawyer of a senior north Belfast loyalist has warned that he may report the Chief Constable, Sir Hugh Orde, and an unnamed Sunday newspaper editor to the Attorney General for over exposure of his client. Ihab Shoukri, from Alliance Road, was today remanded on continuing bail charged two counts of being a member of the UDA/UFF.

Teen Charged Over West Belfast Stabbing
A teenager has been charged with a number of offences relating to a stabbing incident in west Belfast. The attack happened at a property in Vere Foster Walk at around 4am on Saturday. The 51-year-old victim was stabbed in the abdomen and is in a critical condition is hospital.
