Woman dies following road traffic incident

An 82-year-old woman has died in hospital following a road traffic collision on Monday in County Antrim.

The victim Emma McFarland, from Rathvarna Avenue in Lisburn, was struck by a maroon Land Rover Discovery in Smithfield Square in Lisburn shortly before 2.20pm on Monday.

She died in hospital this morning.

Police are appealing to any witnesses to contact them on 0845 600 8000 or contact the confidential Crimestoppers number on 0800 555 111.

Daniel Carroll Found Guilty Of The Murder Of Brian Phelan
Daniel Martin James Carroll (30)has been found guilty of the murder of Brian Phelan. Mr Phelan was stabbed multiple times - three times in the neck and twice in the body – in an attack on a remote road near Camlough on the outskirts of Newry in July 2018.
