'Suspicious' blaze causes substantial damage

Detectives in north Belfast are appealing for information following a fire.

The blaze, described by detectives as “suspicious”, caused substantial damage to commercial premises in the Crumlin Road area.

Smoke and water damage was also caused to a neighbouring building.

It is understood the fire started at around 5am this morning and no one was thought to be inside the buildings at the time.

Detectives are appealing to any witnesses who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area to contact them at Antrim Road station, on: 0845 600 8000. Alternatively the Crimestoppers line can be contacted confidentially on: 0800 555 111.
