Ulster comedian to tread the boards in acting debut

Northern Ireland TV celebrity and comedian Paddy Kielty is set to make a career change, with the announcement that he will be making his acting debut in Belfast this summer.

Kielty, 36, has become a household name through presenting shows such as 'Love Island' and 'Fame Academy', and he will star in one-man play ‘A Night in November’ at the Grand Opera House in Belfast.

The play, a creation by Marie Jones, revolves around football enthusiast Kenneth who goes to watch Northern Ireland play the Republic of Ireland in Windsor Park.

The play follows Kenneth as he links up with Republic supporters and travels to America with them to watch the World Cup.

It has become one of the most popular plays to have come out of Northern Ireland and has played to audiences all over the world.

Belfast actor Dan Gordon originally played the role when the play was first produced.

Paddy Kielty will star in ‘A Night in November’ at the Grand Opera House from 8 August.
