Two injured in separate shootings

Two men have been injured after what appears to have been separate paramilitary-style shootings in north Belfast over the past 24 hours.

A 20-year-old man was taken to hospital in the early hours of this morning after he was shot in the left leg. The shooting is believed to have occurred sometime after midnight in the garden of a house at Butler Walk in north Belfast.

And at around 8.30pm yesterday, a 27-year-old man was also shot in the left leg in north Belfast. He was found at the rear of the Flax Centre at Ardoyne Avenue and was taken to hospital a short time later.

Police are appealing to anyone who can assist them with their enquiries and in particular they would like to hear from anyone who came to the 27-year-old's assistance at the Flax Centre after the shooting.
