A fourth man has appeared in court today in connection with one of the biggest drugs hauls ever in Ireland.

Perry Wharrie, 47, of an address at 60 Pryles Lane in Essex, appeared before Dunmanway District Court today charged with possession of cocaine for supply on July 2.

The charge comes after two men - Joe Daly, 40 and Martin Wanden, 44 - appeared at Skibbereen District Court yesterday.

They were both charged with the possession and possession for sale or supply of cocaine on 2 July at Dunlough Bay, Mizen, Goleen.

It is understood the drugs were worth an estimated 100 million euro and were discovered when an air-sea search was mounted for a number of men who were reported missing after a dinghy capsized off Mizen Head.
