Teenager badly burned by strimmer
A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital after he was badly burned following an accident involving a petrol strimmer.
The 14-year-old boy suffered burns to his face, arms and legs at his home in the Ardcaoin Park area in Poleglass on the outskirts of Belfast.
A neighbour who heard his cry for help found the boy and the emergency services were alerted just before 2pm.

Police Officer Injured In South Belfast Disturbances
A police officer has been injured after a group of youths threw missiles at police during trouble linked to the loyalist flag protests on Sunday night in south Belfast. The trouble flared in the Donegall Road, Sandy Row area from 8pm to 10pm. Protestors attacked police with bricks and bottles and also burned bins on the road. One man was arrested.

Woman Badly Shaken After Hijacking In Lurgan
A woman has been left badly shaken after being hijacked in Lurgan, Co Armagh. Her car, a white Skoda Fabia, was hijacked in the Sloan street area in the early hours of Thursday, 22 December. The vehicle was later found burned out in the Taghnevan Drive area. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Police say they are close to uncovering the identity of a man's body found badly burned in Co Londonderry at the weekend. Today, detectives confirmed that relatives of a man who has been missing had contacted them. However, a motive for last weekend's murder has yet to be ascertained.

Charred remains of man found in Limavady
The charred remains of a man have been discovered by police in Limavady, County Londonderry, at the weekend. Detectives made the discovery at the back of a Masonic Hall at Linenhall Street in Limavady at around teatime on Sunday. The victim's body was so badly burned that a post mortem examination was needed to identify the sex of the person.

Donna Marie McGillion, one of the people seriously injured in the Real IRA bombing of Omagh, has been named as one of Britain’s Bravest Women. Mrs McGillion, 25, was named among the seven women to receive the award from ‘Best’ magazine after a nationwide search to find women who make the world a better place.
