Fire and Rescue Service details posted on website
A website detailing sensitive information regarding the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and some of its officers was maintained by a fire service member, according to the brigade’s union.
Pager messages sent between fire officers and their headquarters were logged on the website along with times, locations and nature of emergency call outs.
A union representative said that they know an individual within the service maintained the site and the Fire and Rescue Service said it has ordered a full investigation and are taking the matter extremely seriously.
The Fire and Rescue Service have assured the public in a statement that their ability to respond to emergencies had not been compromised and the website has now been removed.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE

Public Safety Minister Edwin Poots has opened a new £4.4m Community Fire Station in Omagh, County Tyrone. The new Community Fire Station & District Headquarters on the Killybrack Road includes onsite facilities for firefighter training and transport and engineering workshops.

NI's Chief Fire Officer Announces His Retirement
The Chief Fire Officer for Northern Ireland, Peter Craig, has announced that he is to retire after over 35 years of distinguished Service. Peter Craig is one of the longest serving officers in Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and was appointed as Chief Fire Officer in February 2011, having been the acting Chief from July 2010.

Fire Service Rescue Man From Newtownards Fire
A man was rescued by fire crews from a fire at his County Down home in the early hours of Sunday morning. Fire crews wearing breathing equipment rescued the man from a ground floor flat at Bristol Park in Newtownards and he has since been taken to hospital where he is being treated for the effects of breathing in smoke.

NIFRS Announces Appointment Of New Chief
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) Board has named Aidan Jennings as their new Chief Fire & Rescue Officer. Mr Jennings has over 28 years of experience within the Fire & Rescue Service, most recently as Assistant Chief Fire & Rescue Officer and Director of Operational Delivery. He will take up his position on 1 December 2023.
