Westlink To Close For 'Significant Changes'

Westlink will be closed in both directions between Broadway and Divis Street junctions on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 September.

This is to allow for significant traffic management changes at Grosvenor Road which are to be implemented this weekend. These changes will take traffic under the new Grosvenor Road Bridge for the first time.

Westlink will initially be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8pm to 10pm on Saturday night. At 10pm Westlink will then be closed completely. A lane will be reopened in each direction at 11am on Sunday morning. Two lanes are not expected to be available in each direction until 2pm on Sunday.

Although a signed diversion route will be available Roads Service expect the Westlink closure to cause congestion and traffic delays, particularly on Saturday evening and from mid-day on Sunday.

Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes if possible. Roads Service and its contractor HMC apologise for any disruption caused by this night time closure.
