Vandals Strike At Newpark Household Recycling Centre
Antrim Borough Council's Recycling Centre at Newpark, Antrim, has recently been the target of mindless acts of vandalism.
Many of the recycling containers, including some of which are Charity owned, have been burnt and their contents destroyed.
Michael Laverty, Environment Manager with Antrim Borough Council said: "Not only has this vandalism affected the Council but also, most importantly, local charity efforts as well. An Oxfam book and music bank was totally destroyed, rendering all donations made to the bank unusable. This ultimately results in a loss of very necessary income to the Charity."

Belfast Council Rolls Out New Recycling Scheme
About 55,000 homes in Belfast are to benefit from a new recycling scheme that will seek to maximise the amount of waste households can recycle. The changes will be rolled out between August and November and will affect inner-city homes currently on a black recycling box collection, as well as apartments with communal recycling facilities.

NI Council Secures Almost £186K For Household Recycling Centres
Mid and East Antrim Borough Council has secured £186,200 funding for household recycling centres in the district. The investment, funded by the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA), will mean an additional 365 tonnes can be recycled each year.

Apology Over Files That 'Fell Off The Back Of A Lorry'
While slamming a fellow MLA's motives for revealing the issue in the first place, the NI Assembly Education Minister, Caitriona Ruane has now apologised after personal files were found dumped at a Co Down roadside. The confidential education files containing personal data on pupils and their families was discovered at the side of a road near Newry.

Education Files Found At Roadside
Confidential education files containing personal information about pupils and their families have been found at the side of a road near Newry. It is thought the files, which date back 40 years, fell off a trailer that was on its way to a dump. They were handed over to SDLP MLA Dominic Bradley at the weekend.
