Funeral Of Thai Crash Victim Takes Place

The funeral of the Londonderry man killed in last Sunday's plane crash in Phuket took place this morning.

Aaron Toland's Requiem Mass was held at St Columba's Church Long Tower at 10am in the city.

The 22-year old's body was flown into Dublin airport on Friday, before making the journey to Derry.

Mr Toland, who was on board the ill-fated flight, was confirmed dead on Monday.

He was one of three Northern Ireland people known to have been on the flight, along with friend Christopher Cooley, also from Londonderry.

Mr Cooley, who remains in hospital, is expected to make a full recovery.

Ashley Harrow from Moira, Craigavon, also survived the crash and it is believed he is recovering well.

There were 123 passengers and seven crew on board the flight from Bangkok, when the flight crashed on landing in bad weather.
