Newry Road Victim Critical

One of the two men struck by a car in an alleged hit-and-run incident in Newry, County Down remains critically ill in hospital following the incident.

It happened on the Warrenpoint Road at the Greenbank roundabout at about 9.15pm on Monday.

Neither man has yet been named, although both are thought to be in their early 20s.

The second man, who was also struck by the car, did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Detectives trying to trace the driver said the front of the silver car would have been severely damaged. They have appealed for information.

The incident occurred at around 8.30am on Sunday 14 August on the Crossgar Road. The women, who were out walking at the time were struck by a small black car.

Man struck by car during Yorkgate robbery
Police in north Belfast are investigating an incident in which a 50-year-old man was hit by a getaway car during a robbery. Bags containing thousands of pounds worth of cigarettes were stolen from a bond delivery van in the Yorkgate area at around 2pm this afternoon. The man struck by the vehicle was taken to hospital.

Police investigate death of man struck by car
A 28-year-old man has died after being struck by a car in Co Down. The incident occurred on the Thornhill Drive in Dromore at around 11pm on Sunday night. A woman was subsequently arrested and is helping police with their enquiries.

A teenager is to appear in court charged with arson, criminal damage and burglary following an overnight fire in Co L'Derry. The incident happened at a former car dealership in the Loughermore Road area in Ballykelly at around 8.30pm on Sunday. The 17-year-old is to appear at Londonderry Magistrates court today, 08 February.

Driver killed as car collides with lamppost
A 22-year-old man has been killed in a road traffic accident in Belfast. The accident occurred on the King's Road in Knock area shortly before midnight on Monday October 28. The man, who has not yet been named, died when his car struck a lamppost. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident.
