Stena To Set Sail With £37m Terminal

Shaving around a quarter of an hour off the sea trip to Scotland has been costly for a leading shipping company.

Stena Line is now preparing to open its new terminal on Belfast Lough in a development that well benefit passengers - but cost Stena £37 million.

The ferry company revealed that passengers are set to benefit from shorter travelling times to Scotland as Stena Line's new terminal is further down Belfast Lough and cuts a couple of miles off the trip to Stranraer and shortens the journey time by 15 minutes.

In early May, Stena will close its old terminal in the docks and opens up a £37 million replacement.

The new facility serving both the superfast HSS and the conventional ferry, Caledonia has been built on 30 acres of reclaimed land.
